1. The agreement

These terms apply to all vehicle hires from MV4U Ltd ("MV4U"). A booking is confirmed when we accept your request and any agreed deposit or payment is received. The named hirer must be present at handover.

2. Drivers and licences

  • Drivers must hold a full, valid licence appropriate to the vehicle (a standard category B car licence covers every WAV in our fleet).
  • Any adaptations must match the codes on the driver's licence; we confirm this at booking.
  • Drivers must meet the age and history requirements of our insurers and disclose relevant convictions or medical notifications.

3. Hire period, delivery and returns

  • The minimum hire period is 3 days, up to a maximum of 90 days per booking. Extensions are subject to availability and must be agreed before the hire ends.
  • Vehicles may be delivered to you, or collected from our Herne Bay premises — where you are welcome to leave your own vehicle, at your own risk, for the duration of the hire.
  • Delivery and collection times are agreed in advance; please ensure someone is available to receive the demonstration at handover.
  • Vehicles must be returned (or made available for collection) in the condition supplied, allowing for fair wear and tear, with fuel/charge as agreed.

4. Payments and deposits

  • Hire charges are payable in advance; longer hires may be billed monthly.
  • A refundable security deposit may be required and is returned after the vehicle is checked on return.
  • All hire fees quoted exclude VAT. Hire is available VAT exempt for qualifying domestic or personal users; VAT is chargeable at the standard rate to business users, regardless of who uses the vehicle or its adaptations. Eligible customers complete a simple declaration.
  • Hires include a mileage allowance of 100 miles per day; excess mileage is charged per mile at the rate shown on the agreement.

5. Use of the vehicle

Vehicles must only be driven by named drivers, on public roads, within the UK unless agreed otherwise, and never for hire and reward, racing or towing. Wheelchair restraints must be used as demonstrated at handover. Smoking is not permitted in any vehicle.

6. Breakdown, accidents and damage

Breakdown cover is included — call the number provided at handover. Report accidents to us as soon as reasonably possible. The hirer is responsible for the insurance excess and any damage not covered by insurance, plus fines and charges incurred during the hire.

7. Cancellations

Cancel more than 48 hours before delivery for a full refund of hire charges. Later cancellations may incur a reasonable fee reflecting our costs. Our complaint procedure applies if anything goes wrong.

8. Liability and law

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
